Richard took a week off in July and we went on several day trips. One was to Excelsior Springs, Mo, a place was once famous for their mineral drinking water and baths. Very interesting history, and they have begun to bottle their mineral water again, so who knows, mabye they will become a boom town again. We also visited the famous Elms Hotel and Resort in Excelsior Springs, and took a walk around there grounds.
A couple days later we went to Jamesport, Mo home of the larget Amish community west of the Mississippi River. We ate at a local restraunt, bought delicious homemade cheese,and stopped at a beautiful shop with Amish quilts, and furniture. We bought a hand made paper towel holder. The town is very small and the countryside is beautiful.
